ITINERARY
SAT -
Arrival at Ponta Delgada. Transfer to
Hotel Vila
Nova or similar.
SUN -
P. DELGADA - Free.
MON -
S. MIGUEL/FLORES - Transfer to the airport,
flight to island of Flores and transfer to
Hotel Ocidental
or similar.
TUE/WED -
FLORES - Free. As one of the most beautiful
and gifted islands with magnificent contrast of open valleys surrounded
by many waterfalls, and seven hidden lakes. It offers sensational paths
for walking tours. The most western land reference point of Europe is
the village of Fajã Grande. A boat trip to Corvo, the smallest island of
Azores with 350 inhabitants, in one village, is appealing and enjoyable.
Crossing from one island to the other in a small boat takes about 45 min
- only possible when there are enough people interested.
THU -
FLORES/FAIAL - Transfer to the airport,
flight to Faial. Transfer to
Hotel Horta or
Faial or similar.
FRI/SAT/SUN/MON
- FAIAL - Free. Horta, the capital city of
the island, world known and famous for the anchorage port for the
transatlantic yachts and the so recommended drink at Cafe Sport or
commonly called "Peter's Bar", is an obligation to every visitor. A day
visit to the island of Pico by boat crossing (30 minutes) is another
recommendation. An interesting place to visit in Faial is Capelinhos,
where the last volcanic eruption in the Azores (1957) is still well
present. During the stay at Faial, possibility to visit S. Jorge Island.
TUE -
FAIAL/TERCEIRA - Transfer to the airport,
flight to Terceira and transfer to
Hotel Angra
or similar.
WED -
TERCEIRA - Free. The city of Angra do
Heroísmo is classified by UNESCO as World Patrimony.
THU
-
TERCEIRA/S.MIGUEL - Transfer to the
airport. Flight to P. Delgada, transfer to
Hotel Marina
or similar
(20 km distant from Ponta Delgada)
(in the winter
time it will be a Hotel in Ponta Delgada).**
FRI/SAT -
S.MIGUEL - Free day.
SUN - Transfer to the airport.
Direct flight to Lisbon.
