With their vibrant city lives, churches, palaces of art, historical treasures and the contrasting tranquility of the countryside of gorgeous vistas, hot springs and volcanoes, this island hopping tour is the perfect Azores holiday.

Day 1: SÃO MIGUEL
Arrival, meet and assist and transfer from the airport to Hotel Vila Nova or similar to rest for the day.

Day 2: SÃO MIGUEL
Morning departure to Sete Cidades lakes by the mountain road, where you get a very nice view of the flat part of the island. Stop at "Vista do Rei" belvedere.and admire the fantastic vistas with the lakes below. Visit to a pineapple plantation on the way back. Free afternoon.

Day 3: SÃO MIGUEL
Departure from P. Delgada to Furnas by the south road; Stop at the Village of Vila Franca do Campo. Arrival in Furnas valley passing by the lake. Visit to the fantastic botanical garden of warm springs, lush ferns and palms and take a dip if you wish in the natural hot water swimming pool fed by volcanic hot springs. (Lunch included). Return by the north coast visiting a tea plantation and the town of Ribeira Grande.

Day 4:
SÃO MIGUEL - Free day to discover this charming city with its centuries old buildings and elegant promenade.

Day 5: SÃO MIGUEL - TERCEIRA
Transfer to the airport, flight to Terceira Island; Transfer to
Hotel Angra Garden in Angra de Heroismo, the main city on the island with the old section a designated UNESCO World Heritage town. Angra had an important role during the Age of Portuguese discoveries in the 15th and 16th centuries as a pit stop of ships heading to the New World across the high seas. Accommodation. Free time for own activities.

Day 6: TERCEIRA
Full Day Jeep tour Terceira around the island to visit hidden charms of the island. We drive along the coast or inside a volcano, discovering the secrets of Terceira. Pass by a pasture and experience milking a cow or learn how wine is made in the village of Biscoitos. During lunch time, taste the delicious Alcatra, a savory dish of rump cooked for 12 hours at the best typical restaurant on the island in a casual and warm atmosphere. You will also have the opportunity also to visit the ancient ‘Algar do Carvão’ lava vent. This tour will show the entire island giving an insight to island life. Return to the hotel. Evening free. Overnight.

Day 7: TERCEIRA  - FAIAL - Transfer to the airport, flight to Faial island. Transfer to Hotel Faial or similar. accommodation.
Free time on the island famous for its harbor and medieval town center and a popular international sailing hub.
 

Day 8: FAIAL - PICO - FAIAL
Transfer to the harbor. A 30 minute boat crossing to Pico, the smallest and youngest island of the Azores with a former active volcano. The least eruption dates to only 1963. Pico Island boasts the highest mountain in all of Portugal and represents highest elevation in the Mid Atlantic. It is well known for its fertile volcanic soil and extensive vineyards as well as its former whaling industry. Once you arrive at Pico harbor you embark on a tour to the town of Madalena through the north coast in direction of Cachorro and Lajido. Continue to S. Roque to visit the Whale Factory and the natural swimming pools, then by the mountain road towards the lake of Capitão, at 900m. Stop at Lajes to visit the Whalers Museum. Free time for lunch on your own. Early afternoon continue along the south coast with a short stop at Mistérios de São João volcanic lava beds, then continue to the town of São Mateus to visit the church. Continue in direction of Criação Velha where Pico's protected vineyards are part of UNESCO World Patrimony sites. Return to the harbour of Madalena. Boat trip to Faial island. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of the evening free, overnight in Horta. 

Day 9: FAIAL
Departure on a full day excursion of the island of Faial in the direction to Espalamaca, taking the mountain road overlooking the fertile Valley of Flamengos. Drive up towards Caldeira, the highest point on the island with the spectacular emerald crater Cabeco Gordo. Continue north to Capelinhos (the remains of the last volcanic eruption 1957) and visit to the Interpretation Center of the Volcano that shows the evolution and history of the eruption. Return to the hotel.

Day 10: FAIAL
Free day at leisure. Discover the lovely old town on your own with its lovely harbor, a pit stop for adventurers of Transatlantic journeys. Walk around the charming town with its many 17th century buildings.

Day 11: FAIAL. After breakfast transfer to the airport.

- Lunch of Cozido, at Furmas a typical stew of vegetables and meats cooked underground in volcanic steam 
- Full day tour by jeep on the island of Terceira with English-Portuguese speaking driver guide
- Lunch Alcatra (typical dish) on Terceira except on Sundays it is a different meal.
- Entrance fee to the volcanic cave of Algar do Carvao (open between April and September only) on Terceira

- Full day jeep tour on Faial with English speaking driver
- Entrance fees to 2 museums (Whalers Museum or Museum of the Whaling Industry or 1 museum and the volcanic cave of  Gruta das Torres during the full day excursion to the island of Pico.
- Entrance fee to the Volcanic Interpretation Centre/Museum (closed on Mondays)
- Lunch during the full day tour of Faial

- Boat tickets Horta Pico Horta
- Flight ticket Punta Delgada -Terceira -Horta.  If booking class is not available for air pass fare there will be a supplement to the normal airfare.

Note:
If it is not possible to apply air pass fare there will be a supplement. (air pass is only applicable for passengers holding an international ticket and residing outside of Portugal) - no cancellation / rerouting or changes are subject to a fee.
