Day 1 LISBON - ESTORIL  (25 Km)

Flying into Lisbon. P/U a self-drive car from Europcar car-hire company and drive to the seaside resort of Estoril to stay 2 nights in Estoril, a village known as “Portuguese French Riviera”.


Don’t lose the chance of visiting the romantic Sintra area with its unique Palaces, exuberant vegetation and historical legends, on top one of Sintra's hills is the Romanticism of the 19th century, Pena Palace. Back to the Hotel a brief stop in Cape Roca, the westernmost point in continental Europe for admiring the view. Overnight in Estoril

Day 3 ESTORIL - ÓBIDOS (90 Km)

Drive northwest of Lisbon to the Medieval walled town of Óbidos known for its typical white houses, flowered windows and narrow streets paved with beautiful stone, all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle. Try the typical Ginginha (cherry liqueur) in Óbidos in a chocolate cup. Also take some time to visit the nearby national imposing Monuments of Batalha and Alcobaça complement the shrine of Fátima and the most picturesque fishing town of Nazaré, a good place for a lunch break. Overnight in Óbidos

Day 4 OBIDOS - PORTO (228 Km)

Drive Northern Portugal of Óbidos to Porto town, located on the right bank of Douro River that crosses the Porto wine region, offers the delights of a riverside city. Enjoy the beautiful landscape on the way, the exuberance of the forest of Bussaco, the Portuguese Venice, Aveiro, known for the charm of its Canals where we can see the painted boats called Moliceiros, similar to the gondolas of Venice. Overnight in Porto


Enjoy Porto city and its monuments, the historic center of the city was classified as UNESCO world heritage, visit a Porto wine cellar just the other side of the riverbank or take a cruise on Douro river where you have the opportunity to admire the old city of Porto. Take a trip to Guimarães, Portugal´s birthplace with its Medieval Castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança which dates back to the 15th century, a walk in the medieval quarter takes you back in time. Overnight in Porto.


Tour the city of Braga known as the "Portuguese Rome" for its concentration of religious architecture as the oldest Cathedral in the country, 12th century, and the 18th century Shrine of Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary with famous baroque stairway; Ponte de Lima, beautiful small town, Viana do Castelo famous for its Handicrafts and the magnificent view from Santa Luzia hilltop, Barcelos, a historical city rich in popular handicraft where the Galo de Barcelos (the rooster of Barcelos) legend was born becoming, the miraculous rooster, became symbol of Portuguese. Overnight in Porto


The following two nights you will overnight in Lamego area in Douro valley region, the birthplace of the famous Port Wine, you can explore the region or just relaxed at the hotel in the gardens or terraces, during your stay take the opportunity to taste the delicious regional dishes and wine. To get there across the majestic Serra do Marão and stop in Amarante with its picturesque bridge and the outstanding ancient houses with beautiful wooden and wrought iron balconies.


Visit the charming Mesão Frio, although small is worth visiting and Peso da Régua, the official center of Port wine region, the peaceful town overlooking the valley of the river Douro. On the way to your accommodation admire the spectacular views of terraces slopes of vineyards leading down to the river. Overnight in Lamego.

Day 9 LAMEGO - MARVÃO (270 Km)

Departure from the beautiful Douro valley region to Southeast of Portugal to the Medieval mountain top village of Marvão to stay 1 night, one of the Portugal`s most spectacular fortified villages where you can feel the Medieval atmosphere leading to a magnificent 13th century Castle rising from the rock. On the way drive through the mountainous hinterland and visit Viseu, city of warriors and artists, famous for its wine, center of the Dão vineyards and a city connected with Portugal´s oldest hero, Viriato, the Lusitanian chief.

Viseu, is a charming hilltop city with fortifications, the town keeps remains of the Gothic walls, with its Romanesque/Gothic cathedral and Grao Vasco Museum with important painting collections. While in Marvão in the surrounding visit the enchanting small town of Castelo de Vide with the ancient Jewish Quarter with its whitewashed houses. Overnight in Marvão

Day 10 MARVÃO - ÉVORA (119 km)

Drive South inland to the Capital of Alentejo Region, Évora, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage City and the perfect place to taste the delicious Alentejo cuisine. In Évora , recommend a walking tour from Giraldo square through the handicraft streets to the Roman temple, the Cathedral and St Francis Church with its unique Bones Chapel. During your stay in Évora visit nearby: The land of marble, Vila Viçosa, you will find an interesting patrimony as the Palace of Bragança family, built in the 16th century that you can visit. Arraiolos, a typical Alentejo village where we can find the famous and genuine Arraiolos carpets. The small fortified medieval village, Monsaraz, that stands on a hill on the right margin of the Guadiana river. Overnight in Évora

 Day 11 ÉVORA - ALBUFEIRA (204 km)

Continue your journey driving South direction coastline, Algarve region, one of Europe`s destination with warmest Mediterranean climate and beautiful sandy beaches for 2 nights stay in Albufeira and keep in your memories the golden sand in contrast with the cliffs,  the white houses, the pleasure of the sun and the taste of good cooking. Take free time to relax and walk by the sea. Overnight in Albufeira

During your stay we recommend you visit Lagos, known as the pot of gold, because of its yellow rocks along the coast, admire the promontory named Ponta da Piedade with its caves and rocks. Sagres, the most south-westerly village in mainland Europe and visit the promontory of the fortress of Cape St Vincent – the symbol of the Portuguese discoveries. Faro, the Capital of the Algarve, walks through the Old town and visit the XIII century Cathedral. Overnight in Albufeira

Day 13 ALBUFEIRA / LISBON  (238 km)

The last two nights, overnight in Lisbon, drive through Alentejo region and on the way to Lisbon you have the opportunity to drive to Sesimbra before arriving to Lisbon, where you can sightsee its bay from the castle of Sesimbra and have lunch in a front sea view restaurant. Pass through the exuberant Arrábida Natural Park that offers beautiful beaches and unspoilt nature, Arrábida Mountain range with its unique vegetation taking you to the gates of Lisbon.

Day 14 LISBON  

To visit the historic city of Lisbon is a must with its World Heritage monuments, Jerónimos Monastery and the Tower of Belem, walk along the medieval quarters of Alfama and Mouraria, crowned by the magnificent St. George`s Castle and feel the atmosphere of this “old” historical town and enjoy one night this live area and have a chance to dinner in a local Fado Restaurant and listen this typical song. Overnight in Lisboa


Travel back to Lisbon airport and return your car or extend your holidays.
